Great 100 Nurses — Year 2009 Awardees

The Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida gathered together for their biennial celebration honoring 100 of the area's top nurses.  This wonderful event took place Saturday, May 9th at Jacksonville's prestigious Hyatt Hotel, in conjunction with National Nurses week. Professional colleagues, family members, patients, and community members were invited to nominate exemplary nurses to be one of the Great 100 Nurses of Northeast Florida awardees.

This superb evening composed of dining, video presentations, music, and an awards ceremony was promoted through various media outlets which served to educate the community on the work of the registered nurse, the extent of the nursing shortage, and available programs. Community supporters included all of the major nurse employers - hospitals, public health departments, colleges and schools of nursing.  Attendance at the event and organization awareness has grown with each celebration.
